SRK Custom Sidecars Charity Bike and Car Show 2015
September saw the running of the 2nd annual Charity Bike and Car show. Perfect weather and over 90 entries. A huge variety of vehicles. Bike sidecars ,Trikes, mini Minors to Blown T buckets. They wer all there. The quality of vehicles as good as you will find at any show. Many thanks to my brother Pat who travelled from Victoria to help out, Allison Sellar, Dick sellars, Brett Pozza, Michelle and the O'Connell Hotel , Sandra and Jo. All those who entered and all those who came along and supported the event . We raised $1900.00 for Variety and had some fun along the way. Next year bigger and better.
SRK have been involved with Community & charity fund raising and the support of teams raising funds for charity. Over the years we have built many vehicles for the Kidney car Rally, Variety and Newcastle Variety Bash. In 2005 I was able to assist in the building of an HR Holden (Hariot) for Allison Sellers of Newcastle; on completion Allison invited me to travel along with her and her brother Dick for what was a very memorable week. There is much to be gained from fund raising for a children’s charity like Variety. I came away with a real feeling of achievement.
In 2007 we prepared 2 vehicles for a Bathurst Team going on the Kidney car Rally, and this got me thinking; Variety had just assisted a local handicapped children school with some playground equipment. Perhaps it is time to get involved again, so after talking to a few mates we decided we would put a team together for the 2008 Newcastle Variety club Bash.
Mick and Garry went along to the Newcastle Variety Bash and thanks to supporters and some hard work we raised $17,000.00 for the kids.
